This past week, our team was thrilled to attend two fantastic careers events at local schools. The first was last Friday at Parmiters School and yesterday at Futures Academy.
It was a brilliant chance to connect with so many enthusiastic students, spark lively conversations, answer their questions and showcase the huge range of opportunities across the plumbing, heating and home improvement sectors. From apprenticeships to long-term career progression, we hope we opened their eyes to just how exciting and rewarding a career in this industry can be.
A big thank you also goes to our fantastic brand partners at Tissino, Vaillant Group, Roaper Rhodes, MHS, HPS Watford, Plumb Centre Watford and Eastbrook who kindly provided promotional goodies and giveaways for us to share with students and parents. Their support helped bring our stand to life and made the experience even more memorable and engaging for everyone who stopped by to have a go in our lucky dip boiler at Parmiters on Friday.
The session at Futures Academy involved a presentation by ex student and company Director Tony Vico with senior heating engineer Rhys Jenkins. We had some fantastic feedback from the staff at the school who mentioned the students liked our presentation the most of all they saw because we were “lively, friendly people who were relatable” – this was high praise indeed. We delivered a slideshow accompanied by stories of the industry which the students thought were “relatable but still professional” – something we always aspire to be.
Thank you to both schools for inviting us and for organising such well-run events. We’re proud to play a part in inspiring young people and supporting them as they take their first steps towards rewarding careers. Thank you also to Gavin, Rhys, Tony, Alison and especially apprentice Harry who stole the show at Parmiters.
